The Sentinel Observatory "Club Universitario de Granada" in coordination with the Aula del Mar of the University of Granada, belonging to CEIMAR (Campus of International Excellence of the Sea) organized the course on 'Underwater sampling techniques for citizen science projects and scientific volunteering'.
In it they invited the platform to present the project, as well as to discuss in depth the monitoring of invasive algae and seagrass species. Laura Royo (IMEDEA-CSIC-UIB) was in charge of presenting the project and working both theoretically in the University classroom and in the water.
Saturday, thanks to the diving center 'DSD Dive Different' and the CUB that provided the material for the 20 course attendees. The immersion took place at the Herradura-Puta de la Mona beach, where different sampling techniques were practiced in pilot monitoring of invasive algae in that area.
The data and samples will be treated as indicated in the protocols to be able to follow up the area later.
Thanks to the good work of all the participants, especially Héctor Pula, coordinator of the Aula del Mar de Granada.
